Approach

It all starts with understanding.

Every new project starts with listening. I take the time to learn about your needs, your plans for your company, the value your company provides, and your customers. Only with a clear understanding of your business and goals, do I start building a road map to help you reach your targets.

Because projects start with listening and reflection, plans are based on what you need and what will benefit your business. I focus only on what you need to move forward, and nothing that you don’t.

Building the future of your business together

As small business owner, I understand that your business is your life and your passion. That’s why I work alongside you as a collaborator to help you reach your business goals.

Every communications strategy is created in collaboration with you, using an iterative process to ensure that it reflects your unique business and helps reach your goals.

Because things change, I provide a flexible approach that meets shifting priorities and incorporates regular feedback. Once plans are implemented, they are regularly reviewed to determine what is working and what can be done better.

The Approach

My approach focuses on communications that are simple, authentic, and useful. No gimmicks. No lame attempts to go viral. It’s an approach that focuses on the value of your brand and what you represent, honestly.

Simple

Simple doesn’t mean stupid or dumbed-down. It’s a focus on clear, concise communications that speak directly to your audience using language that they understand . No jargon, no superfluous info. Only what the audience needs from you; nothing that wastes their time.

Authentic

Communications that represent your brand’s voice, values, and story. No gimmicks. No copying others in attempts to go viral. No jumping on trends that have nothing to do with your business.

Have you ever seen an ad or social post that uses slang incorrectly to try to appeal to the “young people”? Sad, right? The company is trying to be something they aren’t. They think that’s what people want. It isn’t.

I focus on representing who you are in a way that speaks to your audience. If your company is a trendy start-up, then that might mean using slang and emojis. If you’re with a professional firm, that might mean using more serious copy, which is fine. Nobody trusts an accountant or lawyer who speaks like a 17 year-old.

Useful

Ultimately, people turn to companies for help with something. They don’t care about the updates to your software, they only care about how it helps them.

Content, from online help to tweets, should always provide useful information. As long as you’re being helpful and providing value to your audience, they will want to hear from you and will keep coming back.

I help ensure your content provides value to your audience. I don’t waste your audience’s time with content that doesn’t speak to their needs and desires.
