Growing a business with clear, concise communications: ToddlerTrunk

Jenn created an online business to help young parents connect with others in their community and save money on much-needed kids’ items. To grow the business, she needed to increase website users. This meant reaching out to potential customers as well as the bloggers and media who catered to them.

I worked with Jenn to produce a clear and simple media kit that outlined the business’ mission and the value it provided to customers. We sent the media kit to key media contacts and potential investors to showcase that company’s strengths and value.

Because of our expanded outreach, the number of site users grew steadily. But Jenn and I found that help requests increased. Without clear and instantly available instructions, customers were becoming frustrated with the site.

Drawing on the feedback received from users, I determined what info we were failing to provide. I then developed an updated and expended FAQ that included simple how-to steps for using the site. With an updated FAQ, site users could now find help easily.

Testimonial

“Amanda was very organized, responsive, thoughtful, and of course articulate. Her social media work was always relevant and very well received. The work that she did with our clients and users was consistently professional and friendly.

“Amanda was engaged in many aspects of ToddlerTrunk. From advertising budget to user experience, she was able to speak to and provide assistance with areas outside of the scope of her ‘role.’ She would openly bring ideas to the table and also weigh in on various initiatives we considered as we grew out business.
